What to expect on your first attendance

Your initial assessment involves taking a detailed history of your problem and your expectations. Following this a thorough examination of the affected part will be undertaken to determine the cause of the problem and how the problem needs to be managed to resolve the problem. This will require a visual assesssment so you need to be prepared to undress appropriately. If you have a hip, back or knee problem then shorts are suitable, for ladies with neck, back or shoulder problem a vest type top would be suitable.

Can I bring someone with me?

Absolutely! We welcome family and friends if you choose to bring someone with you. Often there is a lot of information to take in so the more ears the better!

How long has my Physiotherapist been qualilified?

It takes three years of study at either a university or physiotherapy school, combined with supervised hospital placements to gain the basic degree (or Grad.Dip.Phys) qualification. After qualifying, many physiotherapists chose to work in the NHS in graded positions for a few years, taking additional postgraduate qualifications in their chosen speciality. Our Physiotherapists have over 30  years of Musculosketal experience between them and are Clinical Specialists in there own right.
